Give me Banana mumma!!

Well..again back after long time..A's schedule keeps me busy all time..and to all our surprise the time has flied so fast..A is now 2.5 yr!!
But I will continue to still share few of his old stories as the intention was for this blog..

Today I will share about introduction of food..
A's ped kept telling us to introduce solids by 4 months completion..and so finally we dares..it was 1st April day of Ramnavami in 2012..when we introduces "Elaichi banana" the small variety that we get here in South of India....this banana variant has is considered more healthier than the big variety and also is more tasty

Initial months I used to give banana pureed in mixer..and A would gulp it in minutes..
After banana came cooked and pureed apple and then carrot!!

Here are few handy tips when introducing solids to your little ones:

- Take your pediatrics advice always as they are best in touch with your child health and growth needs
- When introducing solids, initially introduce just for single meal, preferably lunch time and continue to breast feed for rest
- Continue one variety for one week and closely monitor for any allergies etc. and discontinue immediately if you observe any. Talk to your doc asap
- Puree foods initially till your child develops taste and can digest solids
- Introduce textured food slowly
- Prefer separate jar for mixer or blender and keep it only for baby food and do not use for your regular cooking mixing/grinding to avoid pungent food smells getting added to your baby food
- Apple, carrot should be given peeled, cooked and pureed form when introducing. Avoid adding sugar altogether

Well so here is how our eating started with banana which still remains the fav fruit for A!!
Happy parenting till I write next time more on other healthy food options!!
